John-Paul is a Director at Arbarr Energy Storage Technologies, based in Northern Ireland. The company started life in 1989 as an electronic design and manufacturing house and has been active in the battery industry for the last 17 years. The company has developed a whole host of innovative products during this time from internet routers to battery packs for hybrid waste collection vehicles and aviation lighting equipment to hotel minibars. Arbarr’s engineering team boasts a combined industry experience of over 100 years.
For the last 3 years, Arbarr has been focused on delivering market-leading energy storage products and has developed the Power Silo family of products which utilise lithium iron phosphate battery technology. Available as portable, fixed and customised solutions, universally compatible with all major inverter brands and any renewable energy source, Power Silo has been installed in multiple locations throughout the UK, Ireland and Continental Africa.
John-Paul will be talking specifically about a project Arbarr delivered at the Kisiju Mission Hospital in rural Tanzania which provided off-grid power to run lighting and refrigeration to the hospital complex for the very first time. Arbarr sees huge potential for its off-grid energy storage systems on the African continent and plans to deliver more projects over the next few years which will have a transformative effect on the lives of hundreds of people currently living without power in isolated and rural villages.
